Avatr has confirmed the 06T electric wagon will launch in Australia in the second half of 2027, following the 07L SUV in the first half. The 06T offers multiple powertrains, including dual-motor setups with LFP batteries and a high-performance triple-motor version with up to 712kW in overseas markets. In China, the 06T is available with an 87.3kWh LFP battery for mid and high specs, offering up to 710km on the NEDC cycle, while the base grade uses a 72.9kWh pack. A range-extended version exists, but export markets appear EV-only. Avatr positions itself as a premium rival to German brands, though Australian pricing and specs remain unconfirmed. Pre-orders for the 07L are expected before the end of 2026.

The EV transition depends on more than model launches. Without clear emissions standards or fuel efficiency regulations in Australia, brands can cherry-pick which models to send. A premium EV wagon is nice, but volume models matter more for reducing transport emissions.
