The BEEYONDERS project is deploying autonomous loaders and drones to decarbonize tunnel and road construction. By using digital twins and thermal mapping, these machines can operate in hazardous environments immediately after blasts, reducing idle time and fuel waste. Early results show that autonomous routing can cut fuel use by roughly 10 percent. This shift toward precision digital environments aims to lower the significant carbon footprint associated with large scale infrastructure projects in Europe.
