The Australian government has appointed the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) to manage the $1.1 billion Cleaner Fuels Program. This initiative focuses on building a domestic low carbon liquid fuels industry to reduce emissions in sectors that are difficult to electrify, such as aviation. The program will provide production linked incentives over a ten year period. By targeting projects that can reach production quickly, Australia aims to increase fuel resilience and lower its overall carbon footprint through advanced fuel technologies.
