Atlas Critical Minerals Reports 24.2 Mt Graphite Resource in Brazil, Including 17.2 Mt Indicated at 5.73% Cg
riaugreen.comAtlas Critical Minerals has published a maiden mineral resource estimate for its Malacacheta Graphite Project in Minas Gerais, Brazil. The estimate covers 24.2 million tonnes at a 2.0% graphitic carbon cut-off, including 17.2 million tonnes indicated at 5.73% Cg and 7.0 million tonnes inferred at 5.40% Cg. That works out to about 1.36 million tonnes of contained in-situ graphite across both categories. The company says it is the largest reported graphite resource in South America and that the indicated grade is roughly 25% higher than the grade at Graphite Creek in Alaska, the largest known US deposit. The resource is based on 21 diamond drill holes, all of which returned significant intercepts, with mineralization starting near surface in more than half of the holes. Only one of three contiguous tenements and about 2.5 kilometers of an 11 kilometer corridor have been drilled, so the deposit remains open along strike and at depth. Atlas plans to use the indicated resource as the basis for a preliminary economic assessment. Graphite from the project has already been qualified for use in EV batteries and nuclear reactors, though those results came from concentrate samples and do not yet represent a production plan.
