Aster Medcity in Kerala has commissioned a 10 MW ground-mounted solar plant in Kasargod district. The project is expected to generate 17.7 million units of electricity a year and cover more than 90% of the hospital's energy demand through captive renewable power. Oyster Renewable Energy built the plant, and Aster Group holds a 26% equity stake in the power supply company. The plant uses bifacial solar modules designed for Kerala's tropical climate and is built to support a hospital's round-the-clock electricity load. Once fully operational, the company estimates annual CO2 savings of about 23,138 tonnes. The project is Oyster Renewable's second largest solar installation for a healthcare institution.
