ASELSAN, Turkey's largest defense electronics company, has published its 2025 Sustainability Report under the Turkish Sustainability Reporting Standards (TSRS) with independent limited assurance. The report discloses Scope 1 emissions of 24,559.78 tCO2e and Scope 2 emissions of 41,737.05 tCO2e, using GHG Protocol and ISO 14064 methods. Scope 3 is omitted in the first year under regulatory transition relief. The company has set an internal carbon price of 50-100 EUR per tonne, aligned with EU ETS levels and CBAM. That is a meaningful shift for a Turkish defense contractor. The report also uses scenario frameworks from IEA, IPCC, NGFS and water risk tools to assess physical and transition risks. Still, some climate metrics remain unreported under permitted exemptions, including vulnerable asset values, climate-related opportunities and links to management remuneration. The move signals that Turkish industrial firms are preparing for tighter EU-linked disclosure requirements, but the real test is whether the carbon price changes procurement and investment decisions.
