ASEAN nations have outlined a regional strategy to reach carbon neutrality by 2030. The plan includes a target of 45 percent renewable energy in installed power capacity and a 30 percent share of renewables in the total primary energy supply. To support these goals, the bloc is focusing on the ASEAN Regional Investment Action Plan to attract foreign capital for carbon capture, biofuels, and green building materials. Efforts also include the development of a Blue Economy roadmap to leverage marine and ocean resources for decarbonization.
