ASEAN leaders have outlined a regional strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030. The plan focuses on attracting foreign investment for green transitions, specifically targeting carbon capture and storage, biofuels, and solar photovoltaic equipment. Key energy goals include a 30 percent renewable energy share in total primary energy supply and a 45 percent share in installed power capacity. The region also aims to reduce energy intensity by 40 percent compared to 2005 levels through smart grid digitalization and improved energy efficiency.
