The round was led by Initialized Capital and included Breakthrough Energy Discovery, Toyota Ventures, and others. The core pitch is that copper and aluminum are hitting physical limits as electrification and AI infrastructure demand more power density and efficiency. Arcturus claims its materials can reduce heat losses and cooling complexity, saving energy and cutting system costs. The company estimates scaled deployment could save nearly $300B in wasted energy and cut over 500 million tonnes of CO2 annually. Funding will go toward hiring across nanomaterials, process engineering, and manufacturing scale-up. The company is targeting electric motors, thermal management, data center infrastructure, and grid applications. The technology is still early stage, but the investor mix suggests serious interest in materials-level solutions for energy systems.
