Aquaterra Energy has begun fabricating its Recoverable Abandonment Frame system for the Northern Endurance Partnership. This technology focuses on the remediation and permanent abandonment of legacy offshore wells to prevent leaks and ensure the integrity of CO2 storage sites in the UK North Sea. The project is part of the East Coast Cluster industrial decarbonization initiative. It aims to support CO2 injection rates of up to 4 million metric tons annually starting in 2028, addressing one of the primary technical hurdles for large scale carbon capture in mature basins.
