Aquaterra Energy has started fabricating its first Recoverable Abandonment Frame (RAF) system for the Northern Endurance Partnership. This technology helps secure legacy oil and gas wells to ensure the long-term integrity of offshore CO2 storage sites in the UK. The RAF system aims to lower well abandonment costs by up to 20 million pounds per well and reduce remediation timelines by 50%. It is a critical component for the East Coast Cluster, which plans to store 4 million metric tons of CO2 annually starting in 2028.
