Cutting remediation time by 50 percent is the part that actually matters. Offshore labor and rig time are the biggest cost drivers. If they can actually speed up the re entry process, the economics of mature basin CCS look a lot better.

The technical side is fine, but the real question is who carries the long term liability for these legacy wells. If the RAF system fails in twenty years, does the cost fall on the operator or the state. The UK needs clear rules on this before scaling.
