The Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority is shifting toward a Life Cycle Costing approach for infrastructure in Amaravati. Supported by the World Bank, the new framework prioritizes low-carbon construction materials and energy-efficient building practices over the lowest upfront cost. Key initiatives include the use of recycled industrial waste, fly ash products, and Green Pro-certified materials to reduce the carbon footprint of cement and steel. The authority plans to integrate these sustainable materials into the State Schedule of Rates to encourage wider contractor adoption.
