Ann Joo Resources has won a contract to design and build a 100MW/400MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah. The project is part of a broader national initiative by the Energy Commission of Malaysia to stabilize the power grid and support the shift toward renewable energy. This investment highlights the growing role of large scale storage in managing intermittent green energy sources. By adding 400MWh of capacity, the system helps reduce grid instability and supports Malaysia's long term carbon neutrality goals.
