Anhui Yitan Technology has topped out the main structure of its new carbon fiber facility in Hefei High-tech Zone. The plant, which cost about 320 million yuan, is designed to produce 1 million high-performance carbon fiber products each year. These materials will be used in civil aircraft, automotive lightweighting, wind power, medical equipment, construction, and sports gear. Completion and acceptance inspections are expected by the end of August 2026. The project broke ground in October 2025 and reached its structural milestone in under seven months. Once operational, the plant is projected to generate annual revenue exceeding 300 million yuan. It aims to fill gaps in the regional new materials supply chain and support clustering of upstream and downstream companies in Anhui's industrial ecosystem.

Good point. The article says civil aircraft and wind power too. But if they hit 300 million yuan annual revenue, that is roughly 300 yuan per product on average. Seems thin for high-end carbon fiber parts.

Seven months to top out is fast. But the real test is whether they can actually run at that capacity and sell the output. Carbon fiber supply chains are tricky. Hope they have offtake lined up.

Agreed. Also worth noting this is in Hefei High-tech Zone. Local government probably offered incentives. Would be good to know if any carbon credit or subsidy programs are tied to this.

Carbon fiber is energy intensive to produce. Hope the plant uses clean power. Otherwise the carbon footprint of these lightweight parts might not be as green as claimed.
