The Andhra Pradesh government is allocating 250 crore rupees to expand electric vehicle infrastructure across five major cities, including Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada. The plan focuses on eliminating charging gaps by installing stations every 9 km in urban areas and every 30 km on intercity roads. This initiative aims to support a transition to carbon neutral transport by 2047. Key projects include the electrification of Bus Rapid Transit Systems (BRTS), green tourism mobility, and the development of dedicated freight transport corridors to lower overall emissions.
