The state government, working with Energy Efficiency Services Ltd, aims to generate annual savings worth hundreds of crores while cutting greenhouse gas emissions. Officials say the saturation based implementation strategy could become a benchmark for sustainable development in India. The initiative is part of Mission LiFE, which promotes 75 actionable lifestyle changes for a greener future. Energy efficiency currently contributes about 40% of global emission reductions needed to meet climate goals. Nationwide, similar programs under the power ministry have saved over 321 billion units of electricity annually and reduced carbon dioxide emissions by more than 321 million tonnes.
