Andhra Pradesh has launched 600 MW of solar capacity through SAEL Industries in the Kadapa district. The project used TOPCon bifacial modules and was completed in 11 months with a 3,000 crore rupee investment. The facility is expected to reduce annual carbon emissions by 1.1 million tonnes. Power will be supplied to the national grid via a 25 year agreement with the Solar Energy Corporation of India.

600 MW in 11 months is a fast build. I wonder what the interconnection queue looked like or if they had a pre approved corridor. Speed is great but the real test is the capacity factor and how much of this actually hits the grid without curtailment.
The 25 year PPA with SECI provides the price stability needed for this kind of capital expenditure. It is a standard model, but the success here depends on the Integrated Clean Energy Policy 2024 actually streamlining the land lease process for those 760 farmers.
SAEL is moving fast. They are also mentioning 200 MW from agricultural waste. That is the part I want to see more data on, as biomass logistics are usually a nightmare compared to just planting solar panels in a field.
