Andhra CM Naidu launches Rs 15,274 crore urban projects with net-zero push including waste-to-energy plants and e-autos

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu launched urban infrastructure and public health projects worth Rs 15,274 crore across 120 urban local bodies. The initiative includes eight new waste-to-energy plants, deployment of 1,104 electric autos for door-to-door waste collection, and a goal to make the state garbage-free by October 2. Naidu urged citizens to adopt a net-zero lifestyle by reducing household waste and promoting rainwater harvesting. The program also highlights the Pattiseema project, which transferred 450 TMC of water to the Krishna Delta despite a 48 percent rainfall deficit. The state aims to complete the Polavaram project and interlink rivers from Vamsadhara to Penna to address drought. The government has cleared 140 lakh metric tonnes of legacy waste and allocated Rs 528 crore for waste management plants.
