An Post Cuts Carbon Emissions by 50 Percent Ahead of Schedule
cleantechnica.comIreland's national postal service, An Post, has reached a major climate milestone by reducing its carbon emissions by 50 percent compared to 2009 levels. The company achieved this goal three months early, despite a 27 percent increase in delivery volumes. This transition was driven by a massive shift in fleet logistics, with 55 percent of vehicles now running on electricity or alternative fuels. The company also transitioned 95 percent of its heavy vehicles to hydro-treated vegetable oil (HVO) and shifted 99 percent of its building operations to renewable energy.
