Amogy and Amun Energy sign supply agreement for 40 MW ammonia-to-power project in Pohang, South Korea

Amogy and Amun Energy, a subsidiary of GS Engineering and Construction, have signed a supply agreement for a 40 MW ammonia-to-power project in Pohang, South Korea. The project will start with a 1 MW pilot system and scale to full capacity by 2029. Amogy will supply its ammonia cracking technology, which converts ammonia into hydrogen for carbon-free power generation. This deal moves ammonia-to-power from demonstration toward commercial deployment. South Korea is positioning itself as a leader in the hydrogen and ammonia economy. The phased approach in Pohang could serve as a model for similar projects in other markets looking for scalable, carbon-free power solutions.
