Amogy and Amun Energy sign supply agreement for 40 MW ammonia-to-power project in Pohang, South Korea

Amogy and Amun Energy, a subsidiary of GS Engineering & Construction, have signed a supply agreement for a 40 MW ammonia-based power generation project in Pohang, South Korea. The project will start with a 1 MW pilot system and scale to 40 MW by 2029. Amogy's ammonia cracking technology converts ammonia into hydrogen, which is then used to generate carbon-free electricity for stationary and distributed power applications. This agreement provides a clear commercial pathway for scaling ammonia-to-power technology from demonstration to full operation. It supports South Korea's push for a hydrogen and ammonia economy and offers a model for other regions looking to deploy carbon-free power solutions.
