I'm more interested in the contrail AI piece. If they can cut contrail formation by double digits with minimal fuel penalty that's a near term win that doesn't depend on fuel supply chains. But scaling it across the whole fleet requires air traffic control coordination that isn't there yet.

Scope 3 accounting for business travel is a mess right now. This deal gives Google a defensible methodology but it only works if the certificates are retired properly. The bigger issue is that most companies still use generic emission factors and don't bother with SAF at all.
