AMD is bundling Carbice Ice Pads with a special edition Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor. These thermal interface materials use vertically aligned carbon nanotubes to provide consistent cooling and eliminate the need for periodic thermal paste reapplication. The pads are produced using a circular manufacturing process that utilizes waste carbon gas and recycled aluminum. This approach reduces industrial waste while extending the lifespan of computer hardware by preventing thermal degradation over time.
