Amcor and Dow Partner to Cut Packaging Carbon Footprints with New Ledger Method
packaging-gateway.comAmcor and Dow have announced a collaboration to help brands and retailers adopt lower-carbon packaging. The partnership combines Amcor's packaging development and manufacturing with Dow's polyethylene materials and carbon footprint expertise, targeting Scope 3 emissions reductions for customers. The centerpiece is the Carbon Footprint Ledger (CFL) method, which uses mass balance accounting to provide independently assured product carbon footprint data aligned with ISO 14067 and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol Product Standard. The companies plan to work with the value chain early to supply data and commercial models that reduce adoption risk for low-carbon packaging solutions.
