Amazon is investing in both efficient AI data centres and workforce training to support lower carbon cloud infrastructure. The company reports a global Power Usage Effectiveness (PUE) of 1.14 for its data centres in 2025, beating the public cloud industry average. It is also expanding carbon free energy projects including nuclear and renewables to power growing AI demand while reducing environmental impact. Through its Future Ready 2030 program, Amazon has committed USD 2.5 billion to help 50 million people gain skills for the changing economy. The AWS re/Start program has trained 14,400 unemployed or underemployed people in cloud skills. Over 980,000 employees globally have participated in upskilling since 2019. The company also operates more than 52,700 electric delivery vans and has installed over 50,500 EV chargers across US delivery stations, alongside 230 renewable energy projects in Europe.
