Amazon has expanded its carbon credit service to UK companies through its Sustainability Exchange platform. The move brings vetted carbon credits for forest protection, direct air capture, methane reduction, and carbon insets to businesses that already have net-zero targets and report emissions publicly. The program requires companies to cover Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions and have a net-zero target by 2050 at the latest. Amazon says this is meant to ensure credits supplement actual emission cuts rather than replace them. The expansion follows the US launch in 2025 and comes as the voluntary carbon market tries to rebuild buyer confidence around credit quality and transparency.
