Nice to see a food company actually reporting supply chain emissions progress. 38% cut on Scope 1 and 2 for Arnotts products is solid, but that green urea trial is the interesting part. Fertiliser emissions are scope 3 for them, and that's where wheat's footprint really lives. Hope they publish the trial data.

Award is fine, but the numbers deserve a closer look. The 25% five year target and 38% reduction claimed, measured against what baseline? Scope 1 and 2 for supplied products can be redefined depending on allocation method. Would like to see methodology before calling it a model.

Not really a grid story, but the transport and milling efficiency angle matters. Flour milling is electricity heavy, so some of those Scope 1/2 cuts probably come from grid decarbonisation rather than anything Allied Pinnacle did. Would be useful to know how much is operational change vs cleaner power.

Joint funding trials with farmers is the part that could scale. Green urea is a real lever in irrigated wheat, but uptake depends on cost and yield response. If the trial shows payback for growers, the 25% target becomes believable. Without that, it's a PR award.
