Alliance Bank Malaysia has raised its sustainable banking goal to RM17 billion by 2028. The bank is focusing on helping manufacturing SMEs transition to low carbon operations to avoid exclusion from global supply chains and prepare for a 2026 carbon tax. To support this, the bank launched an ESG playbook that provides practical guidance on reducing emissions, waste, and water intensity. This initiative aims to move SMEs from theoretical sustainability to operational changes that improve efficiency and competitiveness.
