Algae-Based Air Purifier from India: greenwaterHOME Absorbs CO2 and Produces Oxygen in Sealed Rooms
aninews.inGreenwater Scientific, an Indian biotech company, has launched greenwaterHOME, an air synthesizer that uses living microalgae to absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen while filtering airborne pollutants. The device targets sealed indoor spaces where closed windows trap CO2 and limit fresh air. According to an independent NABL test report, a single unit produces oxygen comparable to 64 snake plants. The technology was developed through UC San Diego research and is now manufactured in Manesar, Haryana. The product combines a three-stage filter with a visible algae culture that darkens as it grows, giving users a direct signal that CO2 absorption is happening. It is available now at greenwaterscientific.com. While not a large-scale carbon removal solution, greenwaterHOME shows how biological processes are entering the consumer air purification market.
