Alcoa is investing $65 million to upgrade its Mosjoen smelter in Norway. The project focuses on expanding foundry capabilities to integrate post-consumer recycled aluminum into the casting process for the first time, aiming to increase production capacity by 75,000 metric tons. This move strengthens Alcoa's low-carbon aluminum portfolio as the company seeks to reduce the carbon footprint of its industrial output. The investment follows a broader $180 million spending plan for sustaining capital projects at the facility since 2020.
