Air Liquide has commissioned a Cryocap Flue Gas pilot unit at Holcim's CaptureLab in Martres-Tolosane, France. The cryogenic technology is designed to capture over 95% of CO2 from cement kiln emissions, processing 3,000 Nm3/h of flue gas. The facility captures 5-30 tonnes of CO2 per day, with full-scale installations expected to be roughly 100 times larger. Cement production accounts for about 7% of global CO2 emissions, making point-source capture a critical decarbonization lever. Air Liquide is also advancing the Accsion CCS project in Denmark with Aalborg Portland, which recently received Danish Energy Agency subsidy support. The pilot builds on over a decade of Cryocap use at a hydrogen production site in Port-Jerome.
