64,000 tons of CO2 reduction per year is decent but not huge. For context that is about the annual emissions of 14,000 cars. Still a step in the right direction if the numbers hold.

Anyone know what the hydrogen will actually be used for? The article says Oxea makes oxo-alcohols and performance chemicals. Is this replacing grey hydrogen or just adding new capacity?

From what I can tell it partially replaces existing equipment and boosts capacity. So likely a mix of replacement and new. The CO2 reinjection loop is the key innovation here.

Worth noting this is in Texas so it will benefit from 45Q tax credits for carbon capture. That changes the economics significantly. Without those credits the math might not work.
