Air Liquide invests $160M in Arizona blue hydrogen plant for semiconductor fabs with on-site carbon capture

Air Liquide is building a new blue hydrogen production facility in Arizona, investing over $160 million to supply ultra-pure gases to a major semiconductor manufacturer. The plant will use carbon capture technology to produce low-carbon hydrogen on-site at the customer's fab, with captured CO2 liquefied and purified for high-purity gas needs. Operations are expected to start in 2028. This project supports the reshoring of semiconductor manufacturing in the US and reduces the carbon footprint of chip production.
