Air Liquide deploys first hydrogen trucks in the Netherlands for decarbonized heavy-duty transport

The trucks are certified for hazardous materials and offer higher payload than battery-electric alternatives, with faster refueling times. Drivers report smooth handling and good range, making the transition practical for daily operations. The project is supported by the Dutch government's SWiM subsidy program, which co-finances both the trucks and the refueling stations. TEAL Mobility, a joint venture between TotalEnergies and Air Liquide, upgraded the Roosendaal station to supply hydrogen at 700 bar. If the pilot succeeds, Air Liquide plans to add more trucks next year and expand the station network near Rotterdam and Antwerp, aiming to decarbonize the hydrogen supply chain across the Benelux region.
