AIKO has secured eligibility for a reduced 5.5% VAT rate in France by meeting the strict PPE2 V2 environmental certification. To qualify, the company had to prove a carbon footprint below 530 kg CO2 equivalent per kWc and adhere to strict material limits on silver, lead, and cadmium. This certification requires full traceability of the manufacturing chain and silicon origin. The move makes low-carbon, high-efficiency solar modules more affordable for French residential installations under 9 kWp.
