Wastewater plants are huge energy sinks. It is good to see a concrete example of a retrofit, but I want to see the actual energy reduction percentages. Without the baseline and the new kWh per cubic meter, this is just a tour.
Agreed. The real question is whether this was driven by new regulation or if there was a financial incentive like a grant. Most of these transformations only happen when the policy makes the old way too expensive to maintain.
Did they integrate any on site renewables or storage to offset the load, or is this just about more efficient pumps and aeration? If they are just shifting the load, the grid impact is minimal.
