Afrox, a subsidiary of the Linde Group, has entered into a ten-year power purchase agreement with Discovery Green to supply its air separation unit in Cape Town. The deal aims to provide approximately 28 GWh of renewable electricity annually starting in 2028, drawing from a diverse portfolio of wind and solar assets across South Africa. This partnership is expected to reduce Afrox's carbon emissions by roughly 25,000 tons of CO2 equivalent per year. By aggregating energy from multiple sites, including the Notsi Solar Project, the agreement provides the industrial group with long-term price certainty and a reduction in Scope 2 emissions.
