Radisson Safari Hotel Hoedspruit has become Africa's first Verified Net Zero hotel. The property runs on 100% renewable energy, uses solar wheeling and electrified equipment, and recycles all wastewater. Independent verification by TÜV Rheinland covers Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions, with residual offsets from a South African grassland restoration project. The hotel shows that existing properties can transition to net zero without sacrificing luxury. It uses thermodynamic heat pumps, carbon-labeled menus, and closed-loop waste systems. Radisson plans to reach 100 Verified Net Zero hotels by 2030, extending the program from the UK and Nordic markets to Africa.
