The 4-year payback only holds if they actually use the generation on site. A factory with daytime loads is the right case for rooftop solar. 60 tonnes a year is modest, but for a 60-person shop it is a real cut. Would like to know if they added monitoring to track output against the forecast.

Any word on how much of the 329 kW will be self-consumed versus exported? For an energy-intensive manufacturer running shifts, most of it should offset daytime load. That is what makes the 4-year payback work. Without that split, the savings estimate is a bit squishy.

The Green Business Loan Scheme is the part worth copying. Discounted interest plus patient capital for decarbonisation projects, with loans up to £1.5m. The missing detail is verification. They quote 60 tonnes a year, but there is no mention of how that gets measured. Loan schemes need post-install checks, not just applications.
