AEON Mall Eco Journey Campaign 2026: Recycling, tree planting, and river conservation in Malaysia
cj.myAEON CO. (M) BHD ran the AEON MALL Eco Journey Campaign 2026 across all 27 AEON MALLs in Malaysia over three months. The campaign focused on recycling, tree planting, river conservation, and low-carbon living. It collected over 3,000 plastic bottles for recycling and removed 71 kilograms of invasive fish from Sungai Skudai to restore native biodiversity. An EV gathering at AEON MALL AU2 Setiawangsa promoted cleaner transportation. The campaign partnered with government agencies, universities, and NGOs to deliver these initiatives. This is a community-level sustainability effort rather than a large scale carbon market project. It shows how retail spaces can drive local environmental action through partnerships. The measurable outcomes are modest but concrete: plastic bottle collection, invasive species removal, and tree planting. For carbon credit watchers, this is more about awareness and behavior change than offset generation. Still, it demonstrates the kind of on the ground engagement that supports broader decarbonization goals.
