AECOM applied One Click LCA's Carbon Designer 3D to run whole-life carbon assessments for a large Montréal redevelopment project, even before detailed designs existed. The tool used basic building dimensions to estimate material quantities and test early design scenarios, helping the team identify carbon hotspots and adjust elements like roadway width and overpass structure to reduce emissions. The work was part of AECOM's ScopeX decarbonization workflow, which integrates life cycle assessment early in project planning. This approach shows how infrastructure clients can make climate-aligned decisions before committing to concrete designs, avoiding costly retrofits later.
