ADNOC has signed a 15-year sales agreement with Japan's INPEX for 1 million tonnes per year of LNG from the Ruwais project in Abu Dhabi. Commercial operations are scheduled for 2028. ADNOC reports that 90% of the project's 9.6 mtpa capacity is now committed to buyers in Asia and Europe. The Ruwais plant will be the first LNG export facility in the Middle East and Africa to run on clean power, aiming for lower carbon intensity. ADNOC and its trading platform XRG target 47 mtpa of combined marketable LNG by 2035, positioning Ruwais as a key supply source for global customers.
