ADNOC and XRG expand Japan energy partnership with Mitsui across LNG, crude, and low-carbon fuels
gulfnews.comADNOC and XRG signed a strategic collaboration agreement with Japan's Mitsui & Co. to explore opportunities across LNG, crude oil, sulfur, shipping, chemicals, and international energy investments. The deal was signed during Dr. Sultan Al Jaber's visit to Japan and aims to enhance supply resilience and unlock long-term growth in Asia. The agreement also includes a focus on lower-carbon fuels and chemicals, including methanol projects at TA'ZIZ, giving the partnership a broader industrial angle connecting supply, trading, shipping, and downstream production. Japan remains a key strategic market for ADNOC, with ties dating back to the 1970s. The new framework allows ADNOC and XRG to evaluate international energy investments with Mitsui, including opportunities tied to lower-carbon growth. This follows ADNOC's wider push to expand its LNG, trading, and international investment platform, with XRG playing a central role in building opportunities outside the UAE.
