Adani Enterprises and French clean-tech firm Dioxycle have announced a long-term partnership to develop low-carbon chemical production in India. The first step is a pilot facility at an Adani site that will produce formic acid using captured carbon dioxide and renewable electricity. If the pilot succeeds, the partners plan to scale the technology for commercial manufacturing. Formic acid and its derivatives are used in textiles, agriculture, and manufacturing, sectors that currently rely heavily on fossil-based feedstocks. The project combines Dioxycle's electrically driven chemical manufacturing process with Adani's renewable energy and infrastructure capabilities. Beyond formic acid, the partnership aims to expand into a broader portfolio of low-carbon chemicals for energy, materials, packaging, and manufacturing. The initiative supports India's Make in India and Viksit Bharat 2047 goals by promoting technology-led growth and domestic manufacturing. It also reflects growing India-Europe collaboration in clean technology.
