Surplus wind sounds great until you think about grid constraints. If the wind is being curtailed anyway, using it to heat homes makes sense, but the real question is whether the infrastructure exists to route that power to specific homes. 35 charities with solar PV since 2013 is solid proof of concept. The input cost savings going back into the organisations is the real win. For the new SaaS offering, I hope they publish payback periods and maintenance costs, because that's what businesses will actually care about. Too many solar programs skip the operational details.
