Abri says 90% of their footprint is Scope 3. That is typical for housing associations. The 1% efficiency claim sounds like a back of the envelope number but the direction is right. Supply chain data is where most orgs are still guessing.

The 250m and 270k tonnes are based on a 1% improvement across hotspots. That is a rough estimate but it shows the scale. If every housing association did this the sector could move a lot.

1% efficiency is a small number but the absolute figures are big. The real question is how they measure the baseline. Scope 3 data is notoriously patchy. If the baseline is soft the savings are soft too.

They used Altair and CO2 Analysis for the data. That is better than nothing but Scope 3 reporting still has a lot of estimation. The summit approach is smart though. Getting suppliers in the room is how you move from estimates to actual changes.

The examples they gave are waste reduction, EVs, and low-carbon materials. Those are real but the 1% number is a projection. The real test is whether suppliers actually change procurement. Travis Perkins being there is a good sign.
