ABB Egypt has partnered with RCREEE to install 3.3 MW of rooftop solar across its factory complex. The project is expected to generate about 5.05 GWh of clean electricity per year and cut around 2,846 tonnes of CO2 annually. It is scheduled to connect to the national grid in 2027 and is designed to operate for 30 years. The work supports Egypt's Shams Al-Sinaa initiative, which targets up to 1,000 MW of rooftop solar on industrial facilities nationwide. ABB Egypt says it wants 70% of its operational energy consumption to come from solar by 2027, and the company has set broader Scope 1 and 2 emissions reduction targets through 2050. The press release does not state the site's total electricity demand, so the 70% target is hard to verify from the numbers provided.
