The 2026 Climate Pledge Report, produced by Amazon and Global Optimism, covers progress from more than 700 signatories across 49 countries. Based on self-reported Scope 1 and 2 data from 119 companies, average operational emissions fell 11% between 2021 and 2024, while the median reduction was 21%. Purchased electricity emissions dropped 35% on average thanks to renewable energy procurement, but direct operational emissions only fell 4%, showing where hard-to-abate work remains. Joint action projects are a core part of the report. Examples include the Electrifying Drayage Alliance for port trucking, Laneshift's 357 electric trucks in India, Mexico and Brazil, and programs for commercial heat pumps, mass timber and lower-carbon concrete. The report is sponsored and should be read as a progress update from the Pledge community rather than an independent assessment.
