Rail infrastructure firm 1stinrail completed a trial using hydrogen-powered engine carbon cleaning (ECC) across 25 fleet vehicles. The process removes carbon build-up from combustion engines, resulting in a 15% average reduction in fuel consumption and CO2 emissions. The company plans to scale this technology across its entire 140-vehicle fleet. This approach provides an immediate efficiency gain for internal combustion engines while the company works toward broader Scope 1 greenhouse gas reduction targets.
